About Numan's

Family owned and operated... Numan's is a Sports Bar/Restaurant. We strive to be an entertainment Center where you can get Good Food and Drinks, visit with friends and be entertained. We have two floors, with a complete Bar on both floors, Pool tables and various games, Karaoke downstairs, Texas Hold 'em Poker and Pool Leagues upstairs.

Numan's Cafe & Sports Bar will celebrate 30 years in downtown Johnson City in August 2023. Opened in August 1993 as the Chucky Trading Company downtown, owners Dan & Jan Numan have made major improvements to the building at 225 E. Main St, including changing the name in 1997 to Numan's Cafe & Sports Bar. The downstairs space has changed so many times it's hard to recall how it started.

The pool tables have been in every spot and the dining tables have moved front to back and to every side a number of times. The upstairs has seen its share of change also, with the last major remodel in 2012. Hopefully it will be the last change for awhile.

Numan's has always had an interest in Billiards and has league nights several times a week. Some major tournaments have also been played through the years. Some of the best players in the world have played at Numan's from time to time. In 2005 Numan's started the Tennessee Poker League and has upwards of 6,000 registered players. From the first year it has been a great place to play fun Texas Holdem and to learn the game. Over a number of years we have sent players to major poker tournaments everywhere, including many to Las Vegas. We would like to thank all of Johnson City, our employees and of course everyone who has helped us become successful over these 20+ years.
